A little about me

Essentials:
I’m married to Barry (the man of my dreams), have 4 kids, and am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (a Mormon).

Up until now (in a nutshell):
I was born a raised in Boise, Idaho, the oldest and only girl in a family of five kids. When the time came I went away, but not too far away, to Utah State University in my favorite place on earth, Logan, Utah (and the surrounding Cache Valley). There I found myself, married my husband and had my first baby. In 2001 I graduated with a BFA in Art and a Liberal Arts and Sciences certificate. I spent most of my time printmaking, making books, and teaching supplemental art history classes, oh, and I worked at a wood shop. At the same time, Barry graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree, was commissioned as an officer in the Air Force, and the adventure began. We spent a couple of years in Albuquerque, New Mexico (where our second baby came into the picture) and are now in Ohio (and got kids 3 and 4).

I can’t do anything the easy way:
No matter how hard I try to convince myself that some shortcuts might be okay I am intent on cloth diapering, homeschooling my children, and doing without a this or that because I think I should just make it myself…

These days:
In between nursing, changing diapers, reading books, pulling a toddler off the counter, out of the toilet, or off of the key board, doing laundry, and playing the piano for our church choir, I like to make things. I generally get obsessed with one thing for awhile and then move on. This site documents my fickle crafty and artistic pursuits.
